Frequent Questions About Holistic Dentistry Answered
Are you interested in taking a more natural approach to different aspects of your life? Over the past few years, there has been an influx of companies and products that follow a more natural, or holistic approach. After the circumstances of the past year, many adults have been re-evaluating their medical care, and that includes the care of their oral health. Joel D. Singer, DMD practices an alternative approach to dentistry that recognizes the connection between your overall health and the health of your teeth and gums. Our practice believes in using safe, non-toxic materials and state-of-the art technology to support your oral health. We wanted to answer some of the most popular questions we are asked about how we mesh standard dentistry with holistic approaches.
What kind of X-rays do you use in the office?
We use digital X-rays because they provide numerous benefits to the patient. Digital X-rays are known to use 90% less radiation than traditional X-rays. They also provide immediate, high quality images that can be enlarged to look for issues and concerns.
Is Your Office Mercury Safe?
Over the past decades, more information has been released about the toxicity of mercury found in mercury amalgam fillings. While many practices are mercury free, meaning they no longer place silver-mercury fillings, not all are mercury safe. A mercury safe practice has specific protocols and techniques to protect patients. We are proud to be a mercury-safe practice. Dr. Odinsky is also certified by the IAOMT to safely remove mercury amalgam fillings.
Is Dr. Odinsky Part of the IAOMT?
Dr. Odinsky is a long-time member of the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology (IAOMT), which is dedicated to promoting the use of safe and effective dental materials, tools and procedures. The IAOMT recognizes the relationship between poor dental health and the risk of major health issues.
