Nervous About Visiting Our Office? Try These Tips to Relax Before Your Next Visit!
Do you feel nervous when it is time to schedule your appointment to visit our office for a needed treatment or your routine hygiene examination? It is a common feeling that a number of our patients have expressed to us. Dr. Odinsky wants his patients to feel at ease and comfortable when they are in our office.
Relaxation Techniques
If you are looking for ways to keep calm before and during your time in our office, we have a number of techniques that you can try:
Talk To Us
If you feel uneasy when you visit the dentist, please talk to us. You are more than welcome to speak to a team member when you schedule your appointment or discuss it with us when you arrive. We can be sure to explain your treatments in detail to help you feel more comfortable.
Bring Headphones
We have patients that do not like the sounds of the tools that we use during treatment so we suggest bringing headphones to the appointment. Listening to your favorite music or a book on tape is a way to block out the sound and occupy yourself during your treatment.
Be Mindful of Food Options
We don’t suggest drinking caffeine before your appointment because it can cause you to become jittery and anxious. We suggest staying hydrated with water or enjoying a caffeine-free tea before your appointment.
Schedule Your Appointment Wisely
Scheduling your appointment after a stressful day of work isn’t a great idea. We suggest finding a time that you are most relaxed such as the first thing in the morning.
Sedation Options
We never want our patients to experience a debilitating feeling when it is time to visit our office. If you have tried the relaxation methods above and they do not work for you, we offer three types of sedation dentistry to help you get the oral care that you need in a calm and relaxed manner. We are proud to offer:
