Why Regular Dental Check-Ups Are Important
When was the last time you visited our office for a routine hygiene examination and cleaning? If it has been longer than six months, you are due for a visit. Patients with an outstanding oral hygiene routine sometimes feel they don’t need to visit for routine appointments because they are cleaning their teeth thoroughly at home. Unfortunately, that is simply not true. Everyone, no matter how excellent their oral health is, should be visiting our office at least every six months for a check-up, with some patients requiring visits more frequently.
We Thoroughly Clean Your Teeth
No matter how well you clean your teeth, there is still lingering plaque and bacteria that may need to be removed. Regular check-ups allow our team to not only remove the plaque, but to also polish and shine the teeth using specific tools and products. We can provide a higher level of cleaning than what a toothbrush, toothpaste, and floss can do at home.
We Examine Your Mouth
As with any medical condition, dental issues can develop quickly. Regular check-ups in our office allow our team to inspect for warning signs or problems related to a number of conditions. We typically inspect for decay, gum disease, and oral cancer. Unfortunately, when any of these issues are not caught and treated in a timely manner, it can lead to serious issues and consequences as regards your oral and overall health.
Schedule Recommended Treatments
If we recommended a treatment during your last appointment, we encourage you to schedule your procedure soon. Delaying treatment can lead to the need for more in-depth or expensive treatment. Delaying dental care also greatly increases your risk of experiencing a dental emergency. With the arrival of spring and summer around the corner, we would hate for your plans to be interrupted by an emergency that could have been prevented.
If you are located in Fort Lee, NJ or the surrounding area and need to schedule an oral hygiene examination or recommended treatment for you or a loved one, be sure to contact our office to make the appointment. We look forward to seeing you and your loved ones soon!
